For people from Kyoto, Kyoto Tower is the symbol of their home town. If you were in a train coming back from your trip, watching Kyoto Tower in the window getting closer little by little, would surely brings you a peace of mind.
Completed in 1964, and 131 meters tall, the tower is symbolic of a beacon which lights up the city from the sea. Its viewing platform commands a stunning panorama including the very beautiful "Higashiyama Sanju-Roppo' (東山36連峰, 36 mountain ranges of Higashiyama)".
Sometimes it's nice to watch the world below, isn't it? Just picture yourself in a beautiful Kimono under the blue sky standing by Kyoto Tower. It's just picturesque.
