Buddha’s Birthday Festival at Ryugen-ji Temple

Finally, cherry trees are starting to bloom. We YUMEYAKATA are happy to present special offers of spring to you.

Ryugen-ji (笠原寺) is a temple named after a nun/its founder, Kasahara Masae (笠原政江), and founded as the Kyoto branch of Kawasaki Daishi Heikenji Temple (川崎大師). At this temple, female visitors can experience to be a nun by perior registration.

Here at this temple, Hanamatsuri (花まつり, Buddha’s Birthday Festival) is conducted for a week. Visitors will enjoy soothing time surrounded by the echos of recitation of Sutra. During the festival, a cup of Amacha (甘茶, sweet hydrangea tea) is offered to visitors. The view of Higashiyama (東山) mountain range from the temple is also wonderful.
