During the summer in Kyoto, some places usually closed to public are especially open for a limited time. Among these places are Kyutei Omuro, an old residence attached to the famous world heritage Ninnaji Temple, which precincts date back to the Heian period. While visiting Kyutei Omuro, I was fascinated by the splendor of this modern Japanese house, which is registered as a national cultural monument. I didn't see the time passing by as I was in the garden, which is the most representative of Japanese architecture essence. In the "garden mirror" room, where the floor is made of Chinese quince wood, the green of the garden reflects beautifully on the ground. Even though it is still very hot everyday, I make the most of these hot days to find beautiful things that marvel me.
