Hydrangeas at Mimurodo Temple

The season of hydrangeas has come. I wonder where has the Tsuyu (梅雨, the rainy season) gone? Usually, it comes with hydrangea flowers but not this year.

The most famous place for viewing hydrangeas in Kyoto is Mimurodo-ji (三室戸寺) temple, otherwise called as "Ajisai-dera (The Temple of Hydrangeas)". In the premises of 4 acres, magnificent views of countless numbers of hydrangea flowers are waiting to be seen. The light purple flowers make us forget about the sultry early summer. It is a gift from hydrangeas for human.
